Wayne Rooney retires from international football

Wayne Rooney , a former ManU playing currently playing for Everton, who wore the number 10 jersey for  his country club England announced his retirement from international football with immediate effect. The 31-year-old footballer scored 53 goals in 119 appearances for his country.

According to Rooney who told his coach, Gareth Southgate of his decision to retire during a phone conversation, said;

“Having already thought long and hard, I told Gareth that I had now decided to retire for good from international football’.

Rooney was a great player who played the game of football with so much zeal, we wish him well.
