SEE the Nigeria artist ruling the airways at Cameron


They may be based in Nigeria but their music is taking them very far from home. It’s no surprise that Nigerian music has taken over the African continent and Cameroon, is no exception! Here’s our exclusive list of 12 Nigerian musicians ruling the airwaves in Cameroon.

1.) Psquare is the continent’s most favorite music group and yes, Cameroon is catching the fever too! Songs like ‘Alingo’, ‘Chop My Money’, ‘Bring It On’ and ‘ Enemy Solo ยป ‘ featuring Awilo Longomba are the county’s most played tracks on air. They are everywhere and played daily!

2.) Flavour N’Abania has been to Cameroon more than once but even before he stepped foot in the country, his music had made a grand arrival. From tracks like ‘Ashawo’, ‘Adama’, ‘Godibe’ to ‘Olohi’ featuring Chidinma , the highlife singer clocks in as not just the ladies’ man but the country’s most played Nigerian star on radio.

3.) ‘Godwin’ by Korede Bello is ultimately Cameroon’s most played ‘gospel’ song by a foreign artist on air! From church crusade grounds to the dance floors in clubs, this music act is making a powerful impact in the music scene in the country.

4.) Yemi Alade doesn’t just have the voice for her Naija fans but she’s managed to create an outstanding presence in Cameroon too. Her songs seem very meaningful to almost everyone, both young and old. While gospel radios put ‘Na Gode’ on repeat, the other crowd can’t get enough of her ‘Johnny’ and other tracks.

5.) Kiss Daniel isn’t just one of Nigeria’s best new acts in 2015 but he’s also one of Cameroon’s most played Nigerian musicians on radio thanks to his hits like ‘Woju’ and ‘Laye’. Most couples always need him for their marriage ceremonies but most times just can’t afford his fee!

6.) The Mavin Group are everywhere and Cameroon is no exception. Don Jazzy and his team of talented stars are conquering every radio play list in this country. With the most played songs being ‘Looku Looku’, ‘Adobi’ and ‘Dorobucci

7.) Iyanya got off the ‘Project Fame’ stage with a bang but his recently released tracks years later are even the bigger money earners outside Nigeria. As for Cameroon, the Akwa-Ibom native’s hits like ‘Gift’ featuring Don Jazzy, ‘Kukere’ and Applaudise’ have taken over the radio stations.

8.) Timaya is a long-time favorite on Cameroon radio! His longitivity and consistency in the music scene has always been followed very closely by his Cameroonian fans. Now, ‘Bvm Bvm’, ‘Sanco’ and are on every radio play list in the country.

9.) Patoranking took the continent by storm when his ‘Girlie O’ song was released in 2014 but Cameroon hasn’t let go of this Nigerian talent just yet! In 2015, the country continues to put that song at of the hours. With the arrival of the song’s remix with Tiwa Savage months later and recently, ‘My woman My everything’ with Wande Coal, the singer keeps on ruling the airwaves.

10.) J. Martins stamped his presence as that Nigerian artiste with the most collaborations with other African music stars. With Martins’ ‘Jupa Remix’ with Fally Ipupa and other songs with DJ Arafat and Cameroon music group, X-Maleya , the Nigerian singer has always had a spot on ever top 10 countdown music list!

11.) Olamide spits his lyrics in the local ‘Yoruba’ language but who cares? Certainly not Cameroonians! The Nigerian rapper has not only gotten the English but also the French radios jamming his hit ‘Shaikitibobo’ at every hour and fans just can’t stop requesting for that song!

12.) Harrysong’s ‘Reggae Blues’ practically conquered Cameroon’s radio this Festive Season! The hit song featuring a bunch of other talented singers like Iyanya, Kcee, Orezi and Olamide was the most played song in the country this Christmas!
