With just few days to Christmas, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday 25, Monday 28 December 2020 as well as Friday, January 1, 2021 as public holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations respectively.
Many people had their doubts as to if Monday 28th was going to be declared as a public holiday.
Now that this has been officially announced we can go ahead and prepare for the holiday.
This information was passed across to the name Nation by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on behalf of the President in a statement signed on Wednesday by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr Shuaib Belgore.
The statement did not fail to talk about Covid 19, as Aregbesola advised Nigerians, and Christians in particular, to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines especially with the second wave of the outbreak of the disease.
Many still do not believe in the existence of the disease, despite all the happenings around the world. It is advisable to adhere to the safety precautions to avoid stories that touches the heart.
